Help Us Welcome Robins AFB Newcomers

September 15, 2026

Being a military community is more than decorating our water tower and hedges.

It means showing up for the people who serve at Robins Air Force Base and making sure that when they arrive here, they immediately understand what kind of community they have joined.

Each month, approximately 40 to 60 newly arriving Airmen and personnel participate in Right Start orientation at Robins AFB. The Robins Regional Chamber provides valuable information about the region to help introduce these newcomers to the community outside the gates.

And every month brings an entirely new audience.

For many of them, this is one of their first introductions to Middle Georgia. They are learning where to eat, where to shop, who to call when something breaks, where to find a physician, where to get a haircut, and which local businesses they can trust.

That makes this more than a promotional opportunity. It is one of our first chances as a business community to say, welcome home.

Chamber Members Can Be Part of That Welcome

We encourage Chamber members to provide materials that we can distribute during upcoming Right Start orientations.

Materials must be flat, such as a:

  • Flyer
  • Brochure
  • Postcard
  • Rack card

Each piece must also provide some meaningful value, discount or special offer to the recipient.

That could include a military discount, free drink or appetizer with purchase, complimentary consultation, newcomer special, discounted service, or another offer that gives them a reason to experience your business.

Think About What Someone Needs When They Are Brand New to Town

This opportunity can be especially valuable for businesses and services newcomers begin looking for almost immediately, including:

  • Restaurants and coffee shops
  • Physicians, dentists and healthcare providers
  • Hair salons and barbers
  • Home repair and service providers
  • Banks and credit unions
  • Auto services
  • Fitness and recreation businesses
  • Childcare and family services
  • Professional services
  • Retailers and other local businesses

You are not reaching the same group month after month. Each orientation introduces another 40 to 60 people who are just beginning to establish their routines, relationships and favorite places in the Robins Region.

We Need 150 Pieces by October 1

We are currently collecting materials for the next quarter and need 150 copies of your promotional piece by October 1.

Robins AFB is central to the identity, economy and future of our region. Supporting the people who serve there starts with making sure they know they have arrived in a community that values them.

This is a simple way for Chamber members to help us make that first impression count.

Show them the kind of welcome the Robins Region is known for.
