AFMC ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF THE 2018 COMMUNICATION EXCELLENCE AWARDS – ROBINS AFB WINS BIG

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio — Air Force Materiel Command is proud to announce the 2018 winners of the AFMC Public Affairs Communication Excellence Awards. These accomplishments mark each as best in AFMC in their respective categories, in telling the Air Force story.

The following winning entries were sent to Air Force Public Affairs to compete with other major command winners as best in the Air Force:

  • Best Innovation – 78th Air Base Wing Public Affairs, Robins AFB, Georgia.
  • Outstanding Communication, Civilian Category I (GS-5 to GS-9 or equivalent) — Jonathan E. Bell, 78th Air Base Wing Public Affairs, Robins AFB, Georgia.

James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP is proud to announce that Taylor S Esenhauer has joined the firm’s Corporate and Transactional practice group as an Associate. Taylor focuses her legal practice on business and corporate transactions with an emphasis on mergers and aquisitions.

Taylor obtained her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law.  While attending law school, she served as an articles editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and a research assistant to the Associate Dean.  She was also a member of the Business Law Society and the Dean’s Ambassadors.  Prior to attending law school, Taylor graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in History.

 James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP is proud to announce that Tiffany M. Weatherholtz  has joined the firm’s Financial Institutions and Real Estate  practice group as an Associate. Tiffany focuses her legal practice on financial institutions and real estate matters.  She is originally from Columbus, Georgia.  She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Journalism, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2013 after studying advertising, environmental law and communication studies.  She then earned her juris doctor from the Emory University School of Law in 2018, obtaining a Certificate in Transnational Law and Skills and participating in the Transnational Law Program Negotiation Team.  While at Emory, Tiffany served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Emory International Law Review for Volume 32, the Treasurer of the Environmental Law and Conservation Society, a Member of the Corporate and Business Law Society and a Member of the Lamar Inn of Court.  She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

HONORING JIMMY WILLIAMS, CANCER FOUNDATION FUNDRAISERS

Support Chief Jimmy Williams Cancer Fund by participating in one or all of the following events:

  • County Wide Boot Drive – Friday, November 23rd, 2018
  • Golf Tournament  – Friday, November 30th, 2018
  • Benefit Ride – Sunday, December 2nd, 2018

** Donations can be made at Combined Employees Credit Union:  Jimmy Williams cancer Fund.  Fund will benefit Chief Williams and his family. **

This is a collaborative effort of the Warner Robins, Houston County, Centerville and Perry Fire Departments.

 

 

SEND SOME HOLIDAY CHEER TO THE TROOPS THIS YEAR

Again this year, the 21st Century Partnership is collecting items to send to Robins deployed military members for Christmas.  If you are interested in donating, the attached flyer has a list of items we are collecting.  You can also send a check that will offset the cost of mailing the boxes.  We try to send a package to each deployed member.

HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING

MGA DAY OF SERVICE  | NOVEMBER 30

Middle Georgia State University is hosting their first MGA Day of Service on Friday November 30.   They are seeking community partners with meaningful projects in our five communities (Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, Macon and Warner Robins) for us to serve and make a difference. MGA is looking for projects that are indoors; outdoors; hands-on; interactive with children, seniors, and animals; environmental; etc. where we can make an impact on our communities.

Community Partner Project Applications

We are taking applications for service projects for the MGA Day of Service to be held Nov. 30.  Applications are open to Nov.2.

Each month, WGXA News honors one outstanding volunteer with a Jefferson Award on ABC16. In 2019, one of the monthly winners will be nominated to represent Middle Georgia in Washington, D.C. for the National Awards in June.
